The Hawaii Photo Show, sponsored by the Hilo Photography Club, will be exhibited during the month of January at the Wailoa Center.

All residents are invited to enter. Images may be from any location in the world. Subject matter is open, including but not limited to: Landscapes, animals, nature; travel; portraiture; macro; black and white and digital manipulation, abstract and fine art. Images including nudity and political themes are not allowed and will not be accepted.

This is a juried show. The final judging for the exhibit will be by Laurent Martres, an award-winning travel and landscape photographer.

The digital submission deadline is Oct. 15. Acceptance notifications will be sent Nov. 15.

There are two entry categories: Adult and junior. Entrants under the age of 18 enter the junior category; 18 and over should enter the adult category.

Fees are $10 per entry for the adult category; $5 per entry for juniors. There is no limitation as to the number of entries per person.

Cash awards will be given to the Best of Show entries in adult and junior categories. Additional cash awards will be given for Best of Show Black and White and Best of Show Nature. To enter your photos, send a JPG format file, not exceeding 2,000 pixels wide on the longest side, to vijaykarai1953@gmail.com.

Each file should be uniquely numbered along with your first initial and last name, such as 1234AAllen.jpg.

Send the appropriate fees for the number of entries, along with a list of the entry file numbers.

After notification of acceptance of the digital entry, send a print of the accepted image, ready to hang (no sawtooth hangers please) to: Wailoa Center, 200 Piopio St., Hilo, HI 96720.

Images may be printed on paper, canvas or metal. Paper prints must be traditionally framed.

A museum mount (white matte and black frame) is suggested. Canvas and metal prints are unprotected while on exhibit and submitted at entrant’s risk. A signed liability waiver will be required for all entries accepted for exhibition.

Images ready to hang should be larger than 8×10 inches and no larger than 48 inches on the longest dimension.

It is important to package your submitted prints safely with heavy packaging. Insure your shipment.

Neither the Hilo Photography Club nor the Wailoa Center can accept responsibility for images damaged in shipment.
