Various breeds to compete at dog show

The Orchid Isle Dog Fancier Club, Inc. is hosting their annual All-Breed Dog Show.

Numerous dogs and their owners will get the chance to strut their stuff in the show ring 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. today and Sunday at the Edith Kanaka‘ole Multi-Purpose Stadium in Hilo.

All are invited to attend. Admission and parking are free. Dogs that are not entered in the competition are not permitted.

Come watch the judging of various breeds in conformation and cheer for your favorite.

Christian Liberty Academy holds Harvest Fair

Christian Liberty Academy will be holding their 20th annual Harvest Fair from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. today at the school’s campus at 16-675 Milo Street, Keaau.

Slated activities include games for children, water slides, a plant sale, a rummage sale, prizes, ono snacks, local vendors, live entertainment from students and a steak fry. Prizes range from backpacks and flowers to hundreds of dollars worth of gift certificates from restaurants and businesses.

This event is open to everyone. The rummage sale starts at 7 a.m. with the other events and activities to open at 9 a.m.

Tickets for the steak fry can be purchased at the event.

For over 20 years, CLA has been holding this event to raise money for various school improvement projects.

This year all proceeds will be going towards their Lava Relief Fund.
