The cause of a Friday evening fire at a Keaau home is under investigation.
According to a written Fire Department statement, eight units responded to the 6:55 p.m. alarm fire at 16-373 Old Volcano Road. The first unit arrived at 7:01 p.m., with the fire reported under control at 8:30 p.m. and extinguished at 9:30 p.m.
No one was injured and firefighters couldn’t find anyone associated to the home itself. The scene was turned over to fire inspectors and police.
The statement gave no estimate of damage to the two-story wooden structure by the fire.
