Joseph R. Faisca, 91, of North Kohala died Sept. 4 at home. Born in Halawa, North Kohala, he was a retired mechanic for Kohala Nursery, West Hawaii Concrete and the former Kohala Sugar Co., member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and U.S. Army veteran. Cronin Yoichi Higa, 82, of Hilo died Sept. 17 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. He was born in Pahala, he was a retired maintenance supervisor at Hilo International Airport, U.S. Army Korean War veteran and member of Papaikou Kupuna Softball Team and Komohana Gardens Association.
