Police seek robbery suspect who allegedly maced store clerk

Police say a robbery occurred at about 1:30 p.m. Friday on Hinano Street in Hilo.

According to police a male suspect allegedly took a money bag from a store, reportedly pepper-spraying a woman clerk in the process.

Police described the suspect as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black shoes, black gloves with a black mask covering his face.

Anyone with information on the suspect or his whereabouts is asked to call the police nonemergency number at 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
