14TH ANNUAL STRINGED INSTRUMENT SHOW

Where: Wailoa Art Center, 200 Piopio St., Hilo

Details: Hosted by the Big Island Ukulele Guild. Show features finely crafted ukuleles by guild members as well as a juried ukulele contest. A number of special events will be hosted throughout the month. Opening night festivities start the show at 5 p.m. Friday. Meet the artists and enjoy music and pupus while browsing the exhibit. On Oct. 6 and 21, bring your ukulele to a kanikapila at noon. And at noon Oct 13, an ukulele building demonstration will provide an informative view about creating an ukulele.
