“Ballin’ in the Bayou”

Eve & Eve of Hilo finished pool play undefeated with two more wins Thursday and then tacked on another victory at the ASANA Softball World Series in New Orleans.

After beating Dallas 7-5 and Chicago 13-3 the team blasted Virginia 12-3 to improve to 5-0. On Wednesday, Eve & Eve defeated Kansas City 11-7 and Florida 5-4.

It’s is the only squad from Hawaii that is “Ballin’ in the Bayou” in the 75-team field.

Play continues Friday and a bracket champion will be crowned Saturday.

On the team are Jen Lustig, Amale Feki, Kaainoa Enaena, Ui Kaupu, Tara Coleman, Mary-Jane Taylor, Jonette Ugalde, Felicia Kapaa-Taylor, Chantel Murray, Pua Hoopii, Kawehi Kaupu and JoBette Nabarro.

RBI softball

Nobu Yamauchi RBI is planning to run its winter league softball season from October through December with games on Sundays.

The organization is looking for girls age 13-18, and all players in the winter league will be eligible to make the RBI travel team for RBI West Regional in July 2019.

The cost of $120 per player covers league fees, balls, umpires fees, visor and two shirts with a numbers and one RBI organizational shirt.

Soccer clinic

There will be a Chevy Youth Soccer Clinic for boys and girls ages 6-14 from 4-6 p.m. Nov. 1 at Wong Stadium.
