Donald “Don” Jimmie Brown, 76, of Honaunau died Sept. 12 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, he was a farmer. Private service held. Survived by son, Todd (Rhonda) Brown of Honaunau; daughter, Kerry (Keith) Colvin of Holualoa; five grandchildren. Arrangements by Cremation Services of West Hawaii.

Chester “Magee” Daniel Caravalho, 69, of Hawi died Sept. 7 at home. Born in Kohala, he was mechanic at Waikoloa Golf Course, U.S. Navy veteran and member of International Longshore and Warehouse Union. Private services at a later date. Survived by wife, Elwyn Caravalho of Hawi; sons, Torry (Dara) Caravalho, Brycen (Shanda) Caravalho and Kolby Caravalho of Hawi; mother, Dora Caravalho of Kapaau; brothers, John (Willie) Calvo of California, Nelson Caravalho of Hawi and Fred Caravalho of Kapaau; sisters, Brenda (Augustine) Santiago of Kapaau and Theresa (Melton) Gamayo of Keaau; seven grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Chandellyn-Pikake Frank, 26, of Mountain View died Sept. 7 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Wailuku, Maui, she was a homemaker. Truman Ollis, 77, of Keaau died Aug. 25 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Missouri, he was a builder and member of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Survived by wife, Nancy C. Ollis of Keaau; sons, Mitchell W. Ollis, Randy T. Ollis and Richard A. Ollis; daughter, Richell M. Harbert; brothers, Frank Ollis, Mickey Ollis and Denzel Ollis; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Leslie Emil Pinnow, 85, of Papaikou died Sept. 5 at Yukio Okutsu Veterans State Home. Born in Hilo, he was retired from Gaspro, a truck driver for SK Ota Construction, Yamada and Sons and the former Mauna Kea Sugar Co., a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Visitation 8-10 a.m. today at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Survived by wife, Norma Pinnow of Papaikou; sons, Nathan (Geri) Pinnow of Ewa Beach, Oahu, Eric Pinnow and Mark (Lyndell) Pinnow of Papaikou; daughter, Cynthia Pinnow; brother, Harold (Tommie) Pinnow of Hilo; sister-in-law Loretta Pinnow of Pahoa; six grandchildren; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
