Lane closures to continue through holiday weekend

Lane closures on Highway 19 will continue through Labor Day for repaving and debris removal.

Closures due to repaving are from mile markers 2 to 10, in the vicinity of Wailuku River bridge and Waiaama Stream bridge, from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. today and Monday, according to Hawaii County.

Additionally, lane closures will be in effect from mile markers 26 to 27, near Laupahoehoe gulch, from 7 -10 a.m. today and from about mile markers 28 through 29, near Kawailii gulch, from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. today for debris removal. Debris removal also will occur on Highway 270 in North Kohala from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday.
