Daniel Henry Kahuanui, 84, of Kawaihae died Aug. 21 at home. Born in Kohala, he was a golf course maintenance worker for the Mauna Lani Resort, guard for Securitas Security Services and U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Visitation 9 a.m.-noon Saturday (Sept. 1) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Waimea. Funeral service at noon. Private inurnment at a later date. Casual attire. Julia Leilani Kaulukukui, 90, of Hilo died Aug. 26 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired cashier for the former Kona Hilton Hotel, worked for the former Ming’s Jewelry and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Keaukaha Ward. Betty Lee Waite Porter, 95, of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Hilo, died July 5. Born in Fig Garden, Calif., she was a registered nurse, homemaker and lay minister for the Community of Christ Church, a hospice volunteer in Hilo and member of a local nurses association.
