Clyde K. Malani, 56, of Hilo died July 30 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, He was a heavy equipment operator and driver for The Food Basket and member of Laupahoehoe Congregational Church. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 25) at Ballard Family Mortuary. Service at 10 a.m. Burial noon at Homelani Memorial Park. Survived by parents, Leilani and Clement Malani Sr. of Hilo; hanai sons, Timothy Agliam, Nathan Agliam and Tyson (Hana) Agliam of Hilo; brother, Clement (Gina) Malani Jr. of Hilo; sisters, Leihua (Calvin) Malani, Catherine (Todd) Kaide and Carol Malani of Hilo, aunts, uncles, cousins and a grandnephew. Yoshio Matsuzaki, 91, of Papaikou died Aug. 3 at a care home. Born in Kalaoa, Papaikou, he was a retired mechanic for I. Kitagawa, U.S. Army Korean War veteran and member of Hilo Hooganji Mission. Survived by brothers, Tatsuo (Haruko) Matsuzaki of Hilo and Mamoru Matsuzaki of Reno, Nev.; sister, Sueko (Tsutomu) Omori of Papaikou; sisters-in-law, Misae Matsuzaki of Mililani, Oahu, and Sachiko Matsuzaki of Papaikou; nieces and nephews. Rowland Harry Alapaki Melim, 72, of Hilo died Aug. 1 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired cable splicer for the former Verizon Hawaii and U.S. Navy veteran. Joy Keahipuakauikawekiu Mills-Ferren, 48, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 3 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, she was a Hawaii County lifeguard, award-winning hula dancer and surfer, participant in triathlons, biathlons and marathons and member of Na Wai Iwi Ola Hula Halau and Kailua-Kona Family Al-Anon. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Survived by mother, Linda Leilani Mills of Honolulu; brother, Keo (Debra) Mills of Mascoutah, Ill.; sister, Yvonne Patcho of Waianae, Oahu; nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews, aunts and uncles. Henry Seisuke Shiroma, 93, of Hilo died June 11 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was proprietor of Hilo Body &Towing Services, retired auto body damage appraiser for the former Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. and operated a small golfsmith business. Harry William Sigel, 91, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 16 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he was a retired marine insurance adjuster, a U.S. Marine Corps World War II veteran and China Marine.
