Police: double fatality still under investigation

KAILUA-KONA — Hawaii Island police Wednesday confirmed the identity of the man and woman found dead Aug. 3 at an apartment complex in Kailua-Kona as 48-year-old Joy K. Mills-Ferren and 56-year-old Bradley A. Wood-Ferren.

An autopsy performed Aug. 10 indicated each died as a result of a single gunshot wound. A firearm was recovered from the scene.

Detectives with the Area II Criminal Investigation Section are continuing the investigation, currently classified as a coroner’s inquest.

Hawaii Police Department Maj. Robert Wagner said it’s unknown when or if a manner of death will be determined in the investigation.
