The Kamuela Philharmonic Orchestra is pleased to announce its season subscription program for the 2018-19 Concert Season, which consists of three Sunday afternoon concerts at Kahilu Theatre in Waimea.

Season subscribers receive access to the best seats in the theater for each performance at a significantly discounted rate of up to 15 percent. Season subscriptions go on sale Friday (Aug. 17); the program runs through Oct. 6. Full price individual concert tickets go on sale to the public Sept. 9.

Season subscribers also receive a free subscription to the Kamuela Philharmonic e-newsletter, invitations to very special and exclusive KPO special events not advertised to the general public and first crack at tickets for all nonseason KPO events and concerts.

Kamuela Philharmonic 2018–2019 Concert Season performance dates are:

• Oct. 7: Maestro Brian Dollinger will lead the orchestra in programs entitled “A Hawaii Homecoming,” with Anthony Arnone performing Dvorak’s Cello Concerto in B minor, and works by Bartak and Beethoven.

• Jan. 27, 2019: “En Pointe Brilliance,” highlighting performances by the winners of the orchestra’s annual concerto competition, as well as music by Tchaikovsky and Ponchielli.

• March 24, 2019: “Of History and Nature,” featuring the premiere of a symphonic suite depicting the Battle of Kuamo‘o by the group’s principal cellist, Herb Mahelona, an accomplished composer of Hawaiian opera, and pieces by Brahms and Verdi.

All performances begin at 4 p.m.
