A 4.41-magnitude earthquake occurred on Kilauea’s south flank Thursday morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the temblor happened at 6:50 a.m. at a depth of 5.2 miles.

It was located near the former Royal Gardens subdivision.

Hawaii Island residents reported feeling light or weak shaking as far north as Waimea.
