Marie Angela Bodet Haena, 75, of Kailua-Kona died July 31 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Teaneck, N.J., she was a former Catholic nun and member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and St. Elizabeth of Hungary Secular Franciscans. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Friday (Aug. 10) at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona. Mass at 10 a.m. Inurnment noon at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire. Survived by husband, Calvin Haena of Kailua-Kona; sons, Tracy Haena of San Mateo, Calif., and Todd Haena of Foster City, Calif.; daughter, Anna Haena of Tracy, Calif.; brother, Paul Bodet of Boynton Beach, Fla.; sisters, Lillian (William) Barry of Philadelphia and Joan McCarthy of Marshfield, Mass.; a grandchild; nieces, nephews and cousins. Samuel Basil Kaitell, 69, of Hilo died July 29 at home. Born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, he owned an auto parts store. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 12) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Akiko Kohara, 94, of Hilo died July 3 at a private care home in Naalehu. Born in Hilo, she was a retired floral worker for the former Mauna Loa Orchids and Orchids of Hawaii and member of Hilo Higashi Hongwanji Mission. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by caregivers, Helen and Romeo Sembran of Naalehu; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. Peter Claver Veincent Jr., 48, of Hilo died July 16 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a driver for Fun Tours.
