Gov. David Ige on Friday issued his third supplementary proclamation for the Kilauea eruption.

The document extends emergency assistance for Hawaii Island as the eruption on the volcano’s lower East Rift Zone passes the three-month mark.

According to Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, spillovers from the fissure 8 lava channel occurred Thursday evening, causing some brush fires in the area. The overflows occurred following a collapse event at Kilauea’s summit, which causes a surge of lava from the fissure.

The south margin of the lava ocean entry remained 500 feet from the Pohoiki boat ramp.
