Ka’ano’i Young • paddling

Pick a paddler, any paddler, from Laka’s loaded stable of young guns and you couldn’t go wrong.

Young is as deserving as any, and she and her crew mates have probably forgotten how it feels to lose.

She starts her Moku O Hawaii Outrigger Canoe Racing Association regattas by powering a Laka’s girls 12 crew that’s won six races in and row, and then moves on to a mixed 12 crew that is undefeated in seven regattas.

Kudos to Keoni Bacdad, Makana Bumatay, Dejalei Pakani, Kamaile Pakani-Flores and Kenan Quintos-Freeman as well for pulling off the double feat.
