Lacey Uchida’s improved second round was suspended by darkness at the U.S. Girls Junior.

Play didn’t begin Tuesday at Poppy Hills in Pebble Beach, Calif., until after a 41/2-hour fog delay, which kept half the 156 players in the field from completing their round.

Uchida played much more consistently than during her 15-over 86 on Monday, making her first birdie on the par-3 11th. The Waiakea sophomore was 4-over with four holes to play and in a tie for 131st when play was set to resume Wednesday.

The low 64 scores after two rounds advance to match play.

• Waiakea sophomore Kailey Oki made three birdies during a 3-over 74 in Palm Desert, Calif., and was in a tie for 16th at the Future Champions Golf’s Callaway world championships.

Oki was at 7-over 149 heading into the final round in the girls 13-14 division.

Kamehameha senior Pono Yanagi was tied for 18th in the older boys division after a 5-over 75 left at 6-over with the final round left to play.

• At the World Stars of Junior Golf Championships in Las Vegas, Waiakea junior Aiden Oki opened with a 9-over 81 and was tied for 15th in boys 15-18; Waiakea Intermediate eighth-grader Dysen Park (8-over 80) was tied for 21st in boys 13-14; and Hilo High’s Chanelle Hwang (10-over 82) was 13th in girls 13-14.
