A governor candidate forum featuring Sen. John Carroll, Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa, Gov. David Ige, Ray L’Heureux and Rep. Andria Tupola is slated for 6 p.m. Friday (July 20) at The Arc of Hilo Event Center at 1099 Waianuenue Ave. in Hilo.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. The forum is sponsored by the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce, Japanese Chamber of Commerce &Industry of Hawaii, Hawaii Island REALTORS, Hawaii Island Contractors’ Association, Kanoelehua Industrial Area Association and Hawaii Island Portuguese Chamber of Commerce.

This public forum is open to the community free of charge.

The sponsoring organizations organized this opportunity to educate their members and the public about the issues relevant to this important office, the candidates’ backgrounds and how well they will meet the needs of the people of Hawaii Island and the state.

Sign waving will not be allowed on the Arc of Hilo property, and campaign signs will not be allowed in the event center. Food, snacks and drinks will be available for sale during the event.
