Trexel Lynn Beer, 74, of Hilo died May 25 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Buckhannon, W.Va., he was a retired state Department of Public Safety Hawaii Intake Service Center Branch Manager, employed at G. and G. Inc. of Oahu, member of Hilo United Methodist Church, Camp Mekokiko Development Team, Hilo United Methodist Men’s Group, Hilo United Methodist Church Peanut Butter Ministry, Hawaii Government Employees Association Unit 13 Retirees, East Hawaii Kiwanis Club, Hilo Jaycees Roosters, Kuulei Subdivision Kumiai and U.S Air Force captain during the Vietnam War. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday (July 14) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Celebration of life at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. Inurnment at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 at a later date. Benjamin “Ben” “Benny” Sanut Ballesteros, 91, of Paauhau died June 10 at home. Born in Paauhau, he was a retired crew chief for the former Hamakua Sugar Co., U.S. Army Korean War veteran, unit chairman of International Longshore and Warehouse Union, member of Pensioners Club and former board member of Paauhau Village Community Association. Visitation 10-11 a.m. on Friday (July 13) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Honokaa County Cemetery. Casual attire; no flowers. Basil William Hansen, 89, of Hilo, formerly of Kauai, died June 25 at home. Born in Waipahu, Oahu, he was a field supervisor for the former Ewa and Lihue sugar plantations, retired Hawaii Air National Guard captain, drug and alcohol abuse counselor for Adventist Health System, amateur archaeologist and outdoorsman. Visitation 4-5 p.m. Friday (July 13) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 5:30 p.m. Inurnment at a later date. Casual attire; no flowers. Viliami Teniosi Livai, 42, of Pepeekeo, formerly of Kahuku, Oahu, died June 24 at Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Eua, Tonga. Mildred “Dolly” Marie Pacheco, 85, of Hilo died July 3 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation 8:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday (July 11) at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua section. Casual attire. The late Shizue Nakamura is survived by, among others, sister, Harumi Kawamoto of Waimea. Her name was omitted in an original submission for obituary published Friday.
