The Hawaii Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance with identifying two men who broke into an Orchidland residence Tuesday morning and held the residents at gunpoint.
According to a police media release, two masked men broke into the house during the early hours of Tuesday and confronted the couple sleeping within. While brandishing firearms, the intruders demanded the residents open a safe in another room.
The residents complied and opened the safe. The intruders took from the safe currency as well as 10 firearms before fleeing the scene in the victims’ pickup truck.
No injuries were reported after the incident.
The victims’ truck is a white 2012 Toyota Tundra with Hawaii license plates ZEN 009. The victims’ reported that the vehicle might have sustained damage when the suspects struck the residence’s garage door and front gate while leaving.
The suspects are described as “sounding local” and stood between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall. One suspect was estimated to have weighed about 150 pounds, while the other appeared to weigh about 225 pounds. Both were wearing black coats, dark pants and hats.
The firearms stolen include several semi-automatic pistols, shotguns, high-powered rifles and a 7-millimeter rifle, as well as about 4,000 rounds of ammunition.
