Active lava flows continue in Leilani Estates and near Makenzie State Park, where lava enters the ocean.

Although no new calls for evacuation have been issued, residents are advised to maintain situational awareness and be prepared to leave the area if conditions change.

Ash mask distribution centers will be open from 3:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Pahala Community Center, Naalehu Community Center, Hawaiian Ocean View Community Center, Cooper Center in Volcano, and Shipman Gym in Keaau. Residents can pick up free particle masks for themselves and family members, although they are advised that the masks only provide protection from volcanic ash and provide negligible defense against fumes and vapors.

The Tribune-Herald will update as events warrant.
