Trump, plus more

While visiting the vet with a couple of sick kitties a few days ago, he mentioned reading my letters to the editor and quipped that there’s definitely no lack of things to write about.

So here goes.

President Donald Trump is thinking about banning federal support for organizations that refer women to abortion clinics. Seems abortion is not part of family planning. Really?

This appears aimed at Planned Parenthood, which does not use federal funds to perform abortions but refers clients to their clinics, which do. For every offense there is a defense. Planned Parenthood should separate its abortion clinics under a different name, and refer clients to the internet for more information.

Israel killed protesters. Most of the people killed were armed insurgents inciting oppressed civilians to enhance their attack and sway public opinion. Shame on them, not Israel, for defending itself.

The Robert Mueller FBI investigation is supposed to be about Russian interference in elections, but it continues to focus on Trump while letting Hillary Clinton completely off the hook. For the sake of FBI credibility, isn’t it about time the investigation return to its intended focus?

Coverage by the “Trib” of the recent eruption in lower Puna has been great. Keep up the good work!

I also appreciate Civil Defense’s email blasts (OK, bad pun). Would be nice if CD’s blasts included an updated picture of what is happening (the proverbial 1,000 words) and/or links to sites such as USGS or the Tribune-Herald for additional info.

Former President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize for who knows what. Trump will probably never win it. What difference does it make when the meaning of the peace prize is in question?

Campers without permits are taking reserved spots at Spencer beach park because they are Leilani Estates refugees. And your point is you have a right to? Kick the buggers out. There is plenty of space close to shelters with free support — and closer to home, too (but not as scenic, of course).

By the way, our kitties are well on the way to recovery because he’s a great vet! (And I feel better now, too.)
