Richard Chamberlain, 57, of Kona died Feb. 2 at Kona Community Hospital. No known survivors. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Alliento “Ali” Patrick Gallegos, 70, of Kailua-Kona died May 8 at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in South Hilo, he was a water technician for Destiny Water Co., mechanic at Kona Kwik Lube, driver for JL Delivery Service, U.S. Army veteran and a member of Disabled American Veterans. Memorial service at noon Thursday, May 31, at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Survived by wife, Karla Oldfield of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Ashley Stephens of Kailua-Kona; sister, Visa (Harry) Fernandez of Waimea; nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Woolsey Mortuary.

Samiko “Sami” Kushida, 87, died May 6 in Menlo Park, Calif. Born in Hilo, she was a retired teacher and school administrator, golfed with her husband at Hilo Municipal Golf Course and was a member of the Big Island Ballroom Dance Association and Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin. Visitation 3-4 p.m. followed by services at 4 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin. Survived by son, Dr. Clete (Shirley) Kushida; sister-in-law, Amy Miyamoto; two grandsons; nieces and nephews.
