A 4.6 magnitude earthquake rocked the island at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
According to data from the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, the quake originated on the southern side of the island, within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, at a depth of 4.3 miles. The tremor could be felt as far north as Hilo.
The quake was the strongest yet after a week of increased volcanic activity within Kilauea triggered a series of quakes across the southern side of the island. At time of writing, 377 earthquakes have been recorded on the island in the last week, according to HVO data.
