Hilo Toastmaster member Springer Kaye took first place in Division C of the TableTopics speaking contest last month on Oahu.

Winners are competing Saturday at the District 49 Convention also on Oahu, at the University of Hawaii at Manoa Campus Center Ballroom. More than 100 Toastmasters are expected to attend.

“Springer shines at thinking on her feet, organizing her thoughts and saying what she has to say in a short amount of time, all necessary qualities for TableTopics competition,” said Sharla Sare, Big Island Area 12 director. “Our club is proud of her.”

Toastmasters International is a worldwide nonprofit educational organization that empowers individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders. The organization has more than 352,000 members in 141 countries.
