Waiakea’s BIIF judo juggernaut is worthy of co-honorees.

Yamamoto is honored for her career work. The senior captured her fourth BIIF gold Saturday after her opponent forfeited, but she’ll be back on the mat at the state championships looking to medal for the fourth time.

Shimaoka is a sophomore who capped an undefeated season by winning his first crown, and he was named player of the year on the boys side.
