Kilauea’s summit lava lake remained high Monday morning after spilling onto the floor of Halema‘uma‘u Crater this weekend.

“It’s filled to the brim,” said Janet Babb, Hawaiian Volcano Observatory spokeswoman.

HVO’s website, on Sunday morning, noted a small overflow on the south side of the lake occurred that previous night.

The lake overflowed in October 2016 and April and May 2015.
