Born in Paukaa, she was a retired supervisor for the former Hawaiian Telephone Co. and member of Family and Community Education Hoike Club and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Tuesday (April 24) at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. Burial to follow at Alae Cemetery, Section C. Survived by daughter, Rhonda Ellis of Michigan; sons, Evan G. Sunny Lee (Galariada) Cuba, 62, of Hilo died March 14 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. She was born in Honolulu. Services held. Lillian “Leilani” Chow Kuwahara, 92, of Hilo died April 16 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Morna “Aunty Mona” Malani, 88, of Las Vegas died April 7 in Las Vegas. Born in Laupahoehoe, she was a former cafeteria worker for Laupahoehoe School and member of Laupahoehoe Congregational Church. Wayne David Souza, 68, of Papaaloa died April 4 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Honokaa, he was owner of Souza Repair & Plumbing, plumber for the former Hamakua Sugar Co., member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and U.S. Navy Vietnam-era veteran.
