Waiakea seniors Makana Esser and Jazime Early have been honored as Academic All-Americans by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association of America.

Student-athletes must have maintained a 3.75 grade point average, swim on the varsity team and competed in the BIIF championships to be considered.

Also, the boys and girls swimming and diving squads earned scholar team awards. The 29 girls accumulated an overall GPA of 3.598 to earn silver level recognition, while the 18 boys accumulated an overall GPA of 3.395 (bronze level).
