BIIF softball: Waiakea swings big bats against Kona

Waiakea scored in every innings to beat Konawaena 13-3 in a five-inning TKO game on Saturday in Kealakekua.

Johnny Mackwelung batted 3 for 4 with three RBIs, Gracie Patao went 2 for 3 with three RBIs, and Brandee Chinen was 3 for 4 for the Warriors (11-0).

Emma Fincher added two RBIs while Shaily Moses, Halee Sweat, and Ziara Tosie each scored two runs.

Sweat went the distance and struck out five for the win. She allowed three runs on two hits and three walks.

Shaylann Grace pitched three innings and gave up eight runs (six unearned) in the loss. Andi Uemura tossed two innings and surrendered five runs.

Magedlynn Anuntak batted 1 for 2 with two RBIs for the Wildcats (8-3).

Hawaii Prep 16, Ka’u 9: After one time through the order, Ka Makani scored all of their runs from the third inning on.

Sarah Taniguchi hit a triple and finished with three RBIs, Jordan Zarate batted 3 for 5, Hannah Toaus, Payton Au, and Marissa Ingram each paired hits, and Sara Heymann added two RBIs for HPA (4-9).

Hillary Connors earned the win and also batted 1 for 5.

CeAndre Silva-Kamei took the loss and also went 1 for 4 with an RBI.

Analei Emmsley hit an inside-the-park homer, added two doubles and had two RBIs, Chaunalisa Velez had three RBIs, Lei Chun Galban Kin In and Tiare Wong-Yuen each had an RBI for the Trojans (2-11).
