Kimie “Lillian” Tanihiro, 90, of Hilo died March 4 at home. Born in Kahei, Kohala, she was retired from the former Yamamoto Credit Jewelers, attended Hawaii Island Adult Care and was a member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Hiroshima Kenjin Kai. Visitation 3-4 p.m. Saturday (April 14) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo. Memorial service at 4 p.m. Casual attire. Survived by son, Patrick (Doreen) Tanihiro of Hilo; daughters, Lorna (Francisco Ramos) Hanamoto and Jo Ann (Robert S. Lee Jr.) Abe of Hilo; daughter-in-law, Alinor Emi Tanihiro of Kauai; sisters-in-law, Olive Y. Narimatsu, Nobuko Nishimura, Michiko (Richard) Uchimura and Rosalie Takayama of Hilo, Thelma Cook of Washington state; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Karlette Kehaulani Kaniho, 64, of Waimea died March 19 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honokaa, she was a former baker at KTA Super Stores, cashier at Foodland, floral and lei designer, and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Waimea 1st Ward. Visitation 8-9:45 a.m. Saturday (April 14) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Waimea. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Urn burial to follow at Waimea County Cemetery, Mormon section. Aloha attire; flowers and leis welcome. Survived by brothers, Kenneth Keala (LaVerne) Kaniho of Laupahoehoe, Klem (Janice) Kaniho of Waimea and Seymour Kahiliaulani Lindsey Kaniho of California; hanai brother, Jonah Kuahine of Honolulu; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
