Brigida Lorenzo Castro, 81, of Honokaa died March 14 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Dingras, Ilocos Norte, the Philippines, she retired from Kawano Farms and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. All-night vigil at 6 p.m. Friday (April 6) at the family residence, 45-3687 Olopua Place, Honokaa. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Saturday (April 7) at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Celebration of Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire; flowers and lei welcomed. Burial at Honokaa Catholic Cemetery. Survived by daughters, Anacleta (Gerry) Romero of Honokaa and Florencia (Ernesto) Pasalo of Maui; sons, Adel (Cora) Castro, Basilio Castro and Victorino (Caroline) Castro of Honokaa, Boni (Mary Jane) Castro of Paauilo and Robert (Maryln Grace) Castro of the Philippines; brother, Arcadio (Remegia) Lorenzo of the Philippines; sister, Monica Pinacate of the Philippines; 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and cousins. Mary Lou Weber Magno, 86, of Volcano died March 18 at Hawaii Care Choices’ Pohai Malama Care Center in Hilo. Born in St. Louis, she was a retired Mountain View Elementary School teacher and member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Hawaii State Retired Teachers Association, Hawaii Island Retired Teachers Association, Hawaii State Teachers Association-Retired, Hawaii Education Association and American Association for Retired Persons. Visitation 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at Dodo Mortuary’s chapel in Hilo, Wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation again from 8-10 a.m. Thursday, April 12, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Mountain View. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire. Survived by daughters, Maylyn (Steve) Magno-Gomes of Waipahu, Oahu, and Marcia Magno of Volcano; sons, Talmadge Magno of Volcano and Eric (Althea) Magno of Mountain View; sister, Joanne Schall of Richardson, Texas; brothers-in-law, Edward (Karen) Magno, Richard (Rose) Magno and Roy (Aileen) Magno of Pearl City, Oahu; sister-in-law, Josephine Magno of Hilo; three grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
