The Hilo Y’s Men and Women’s Club made a $3,000 donation toward the Island of Hawaii YMCA’s annual campaign fundraiser.

The Hilo Y’s Men and Women’s Club is affiliated with the Y Service Clubs International, a worldwide organization oriented to serving the YMCA and the communities in which it is present.

The Hilo Y’s Men and Women’s Club signature project is its annual Christmas tree sale fundraiser at Ben Franklin Craft Store in Hilo. Since 1950, the Hilo Y’s Men’s Club, now the Hilo Y’s Men and Women’s Club, has been bringing the spirit of Christmas to hundreds of families.

Proceeds from the tree sale provide financial assistance for individuals, families and seniors in need to participate in child care, and family and senior fitness programs at the Y.

Donations can be made to the Island of Hawaii YMCA, 300 W. Lanikaula St.
