Clara Kinuko Aiona, 97, of Hilo died March 21 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Naalehu, she was a retired florist for Hirose Nursery and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation 8:30-10 a.m. Monday, April 2, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. Burial noon at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Survived by daughter, Charlene (Kevin) Kubota of Hilo; hanai daughter, Goody (Doc) Leopoldino of Hilo; sister, Irene Balfe of Honolulu; brother-in-law, Leroy Edwards of San Diego; sisters-in-law, Vivian Araujo, Geraldine “Momi-Gerri” Aumua and Kay Taosaka of Hilo and Karen Komatsu of Honolulu; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews. Shawn Kealoha Akana, 49, of Kailua-Kona died Feb. 17 at his family’s home. Born in Honolulu, he was a custodian and football coach at Kealakehe High School and member of Imua Iron Powerlifting Club and Solid Rock Ministries. Celebration of life 4-8 p.m. Sunday, April 1, at Kealakehe High School football field in Kailua-Kona. Honolulu services noon Saturday, April 21, at Palama Settlement, 810 N. Vineyard Blvd. Celebration to follow from 2-6 p.m. Survived by mother, Leila Akana of Honolulu; brother, Shane (Michelle-Ann) Akana of Waimanalo, Oahu; sister, Shonna (David) Vaovasa of Honolulu; hanai ohana, Ivan and Malia Louis of Kona; nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren. Ronald “K K” Peter Caravalho, 79, of Kohala died March 14 at home. Born in North Kohala, he was a retired mason for Ono Construction Co. Private services held. Survived by brothers, John (Barbara) Caravalho Jr. of Holualoa, Henry (Lei) Caravalho and Ernest Caravalho of Waimea and Christino (Leona) Caravalho of Hilo; sisters, Irene Perez of Kailua-Kona, Gladys Silva of Wyoming, Dora (Daniel) Perreira of Waimea and Cheryl Lewi and Bernie Lewi of Kailua-Kona; three aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
