Margie Southard Grimes, 81, of Kailua-Kona died March 11 at home. Born in Elida, N.M., she was a retired educator for San Diego Unified School District and former activities sales representative for Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays. Celebration of life 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. Sunday, April 8, at Hawaii Big Game Fishing Club. No flowers. Memorial donations to West Hawaii Humane Society. Survived by husband, Jim Grimes of Kailua-Kona; hanai daughter, Kaying Xiong of California; sister, Faye Boother of Louisiana; nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Cremation Services of West Hawaii.

Vivian Leolani Ontai, 65, of Holualoa died Feb. 11 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Honolulu, she was an artist and lomilomi practioner. Yoshio Sugihara, 100, of Hilo died March 5 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired Hawaii Electric Light Co. millwright, helper at Seaside Restaurant and Aqua Farm and member of Piihonua Kumiai. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by son, Duane (Naomi) Sugihara of Hilo; daughter, Donna (Eric) Higuchi of Hilo; brother, James (Betty) Sugihara of Honolulu; sister, Tamako Matsumoto of Kansas; sisters-in-law, Doris Sugihara of Hilo and Shizue Sugihara of Honolulu; brother-in-law, Tennis Johnson of California; three grandchildren; nephews, nieces and cousins. Tomeyo Torioka, 89, of Honalo died March 7 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Yamaguchi, Japan, she was a retired pantry worker at Royal Kona Resort and member of Daifukuji Soto Mission, Yamaguchi Kenjin Kai and Honalo One Kumi. Private services. Bernice Tremaine, 95, of Hilo died Feb. 26 at the Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation &Nursing Center. Born on Oahu, she was a homemaker. Private services held.
