Meyer Goo, 96, of Kailua-Kona died March 7 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Lahaina, Maui, he was an electronics technician, member of National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, martial arts teacher, Coast Guard Auxiliary officer and U.S. Army World War II veteran. Else Ernestine Valeska Makizuru, 91, of Keaau died March 5 at Hawaii Care Choices’ Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Germany, she was a homemaker. Private family services. John W. Tyler, 74, of Volcano died Jan. 23 at Hawaii Care Choices’ Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Boone, Iowa, he retired from the National Park Service and worked in numerous parks across the U.S. and Japan including Pu‘uhonua o Honaunau National Park as a park ranger, superintendent, instructor and assistant director of training, was active in Rotary Club of Volcano, a board member for Hawaii Pacific Parks Association and volunteer at Hospice of Hilo.
