VA town hall meeting in Hilo

A U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs town hall meeting and eligibility and resource fair is scheduled for 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the ILWU Hall in Hilo.

The event will be hosted by directors Jennifer S. Gutowski, VA Pacific Island Health Care System; Jim Horton, National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific; and Karen M. Gooden, Honolulu VA Regional Office.

Veterans, their families, survivors and any organization or individual who works with or on behalf of veterans is encouraged to attend.

Rat lungworm support offered

A rat lungworm disease support group for survivors, their caregivers and others will meet from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the Keaau Community Center.

The meeting is a joint effort between Hilo Medical Center and Puna Community Medical Center.

Waldorf early enrollment continues

Early enrollment for the 2018-19 school year at Malamalama Waldorf School in Hawaiian Paradise Park continues through Thursday.

The school for preschool to eighth-grade students is offering a tuition discount during this time. The campus is located at 15-1834 Maku‘u Drive.
