Devin Johnson had a good day for the UH-Hilo basketball team, but his teammates struggled in an 88-55 loss to Cal Baptist on Tuesday at Riverside, Calif.

Johnson scored 22 points on 10 of 20 shooting for the Vulcans (6-17, 5-11 PacWest), who lost their fourth consecutive game.

Ryley Callaghan added 11 points for UHH, which was outscored 47-20 in the second half and made just 8 of 30 field goals.

Jordan Heading scored 20 points on 7 of 10 shooting for the Lancers (20-4, 13-0), who had much

better bench scoring, 31-0 points.

Women

Cal Baptist 104, UHH 59: The Lancers drained 17 of 29 3-pointers to overwhelm the Vuls, who have lost eight straight.

Allie Navarette led UHH (6-13, 4-12) with 13 points. Sara Shimizu added 11 points while Patience Taylor and Danielle Dacosta had 10 each.
