The Kiwanis Club of East Hawaii and friends recently completed 100 hours of service through the Harry &Jeannette Weinberg &Friends Program.
The Weinberg &Friends community service project took place at the Easter Seals of East Hawaii facility in the Shipman Industrial Park in Keaau.
Easter Seals of Hawaii serves adults with developmental disabilities and provides personal assistants, social and emotional support and life skills training in a safe, welcoming and positive environment.
A total of 37 adult volunteers washed vehicles used to transport clients to and from activities, jobs and life skills training.
Volunteers also gave the facility a thorough top to bottom cleaning and refreshing.
The 100 hours of service performed enables the Kiwanis Club of East Hawaii the opportunity to designate a charitable organization to receive a $10,000 grant through the Harry &Jeannette Weinberg Foundation.
“We wish to express sincere gratitude to the many volunteers for their hard work and dedication that helped to make this project a success,” said East Hawaii Kiwanis president John Field. “And many, many thanks to the Harry &Jeannette Weinberg Foundation for allowing the Kiwanis Club of East Hawaii the opportunity to participate in the Weinberg &Friends program.”
