KAILUA-KONA — Authorities identified the second victim killed in a crash in South Kona as Richard Chamberlain of Kailua-Kona.

Chamberlain, 56, and Roxane Cho, 54, also of Kailua-Kona, were struck Friday evening near mile marker 84 on Mamalohoa Highway by an Ocean View woman traveling south in a 2013 Nissan sedan.

Cho and Chamberlain were taken to Kona Community Hospital in critical condition. Cho was pronounced dead at 10:01 p.m. and Chamberlain was pronounced dead at 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

The driver of the Nissan, a 55-year-old woman, and her female passenger, also of Ocean View, were uninjured in the crash.

An autopsy was ordered and a negligent homicide investigation was initiated.

Police don’t think speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.

Anyone who might have witnessed the incident should call Officer Kimo Keliipaakaua at 326-4646, ext. 229, or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
