Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union announced that Tyson Klask will be the branch manager of the soon-to-open location in downtown Hilo.

The new branch, the credit union’s first in East Hawaii, will open this summer at 111 Aupuni St.

The branch will provide members with a drive-up teller window, 24-hour ATM and other in-lobby banking options.

“I’m so excited and honored to join the Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union ‘ohana,” Klask said. “I’ve always wanted to serve the community in a larger capacity by providing people with sound advice that makes a difference in their lives.”

Klask, a Hilo resident, graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1994 and has worked in the financial industry for more than 23 years with the Associates, which became CitiFinancial and then OneMain Financial.

At HCFCU, he will have overall supervisory responsibility for the administration, operation, loans, personnel, and community and public relations for the branch.

Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union is a nonprofit, federally insured financial institution owned by its 40,000 members. HCFCU’s other branches are located in Honokaa, Kailua-Kona, Kaloko, Kealakekua and Kohala. For more information, visit www.hicommfcu.com.
