If you’re an orchid hobbyist or someone with a budding orchid addiction, you’ll want to join Shelby Smith and Donna Barr from the Hilo Orchid Society for their Build Your Own Mini-Orchid Display workshop from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at the Volcano Art Center’s Ni‘aulani Campus.
Smith and Barr will be on hand to answer questions and show you some tips, tricks and their orchid “know-how.”
The workshop will involve education about orchids and designing and building a mini orchid display. Different categories of mini-orchid displays will be covered, including garden, flower arrangement, cut flowers, ikebana and keiki. Participants also will be able to take home an orchid.
