The Big Island Substance Abuse Council recently received a $10,000 donation from the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation.

Weinberg Foundation employees selected BISAC for the gift because of the many good works it does in the community. BISAC provides services such as its Po‘okela vocational training programs to help people gain marketable skills after treatment.

“We are definitely blessed with this generous gift,” said BISAC CEO Dr. Hannah Preston-Pita. “We are grateful for the donation and it will be used to help us continue to inspire positive change and help individuals and their families in our communities.”

Since 1964, BISAC has been inspiring people and families to reclaim and enrich their lives in the wake of the ravages of substance abuse and mental health. It offers a continuum of services that are culturally appropriate and aligned with the ever-changing behavioral health field.
