The Kahilu Theatre kicks off its 2018 season with “The Best of Broadway in Hawaii” at 7 p.m. Jan. 13 and 4 p.m. Jan. 14 in Waimea.

Members of the Kahilu Youth Troupe will perform favorite selections from previous Youth Troupe concerts and musicals. For this concert, original troupe members — some of whom have gone on to receive masters degrees in theater and are pursuing careers in the arts — will be performing with current high school troupe members.

The production is directed by Beth Bornstein Dunnington, who teaches acting and musical theater as part of the Kahilu Performing Arts classes and educational program and uses these classes as a training ground for the Youth Troupe. Musical director is Paul Gregg, an original troupe member; vocal coach is Val Underwood, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival artistic director.

Cast members are Noelani Anderson, Becca Barrett, Grace Bostock, Leilani Bostock, Simon Dunlap, Marena Dunnington, Stacee Firestone, Lucky Friend, Daniel Gregg, Paul Gregg, Ryan Hooley, Melissa Lynn Threlfall, and Grace Todd.

Tickets are $20/$25/$35 and are available for purchase at the Kahilu Theatre Box Office, 67-1186 Lindsey Road, or online at Kahilutheatre.org.
