UH-Hilo’s men’s and women’s home openers scheduled for Thursday against Cal Baptist were postponed because of unsafe floor conditions at the campus gym.
Heavy rainfall and high humidity necessitated the change, according to UH-Hilo athletic director Patrick Guillen
“With the safety of the student-athletes from both teams our highest priority, the decision was made to reschedule the women’s and men’s games,” Guillen said in release.
Also in limbo are women’s and men’s doubleheaders scheduled for Saturday against Biola and Monday against Chaminade.
After Monday, the remainder of the Vulcans’ games are scheduled for Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium. A craft fair is being held at Hilo Civic.
