The Hawaii Writers Guild will present this year’s last evening of original readings by Big Island authors from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at the Thelma Parker Memorial Public and School Library, 67-1209 Mamalahoa Highway in Waimea.
Readers will include Jada Tan Rufo, reading from her newly published book, “The Zone,” a historical novel set in 1937, a war story about the “rape of Nanjing;” Paul Bryant, reading a personal essay about the death of his first lover and life-long friend; Amara Cudney in her first reading as a member of the guild; and a reading of a short science fantasy story by Greer Woodward.
The readings are free and open to the public.
