Project Hawaii Inc. recently was named a 2017 Top-Rated Nonprofit by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews of charities and nonprofits.

Project Hawaii provides year-round services to unsheltered homeless children around Hawaii Island — an important step in helping families escape a cycle of poverty.

The organization is operated 100 percent by volunteers and solely supported by public donations.

“We are honored to be named a 2017 Top-Rated Nonprofit,” said Magin Patrick, Project Hawaii director.

“We are proud of our accomplishments this year, including our award-winning teen mentoring program, summer educational program for hundreds of homeless children and our extensive outreach to the displaced homeless children.”

The Top-Rated Nonprofit award is based on the rating and number of reviews Project Hawaii received from volunteers, donors and aid recipients. Reviews can be viewed at www.HelptheHomelessKeiki.org.

“Project Hawaii is a great example of a nonprofit making a real difference in their community,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits.

“Their award is well-deserved recognition not only of their work, but the tremendous support they receive, as shown by the many outstanding reviews they have received from people who have direct experience working with Project Hawaii.”
