This year’s theme is “Honoring All Who Served.” The public is welcome to attend.

Lt. Col. Christopher Marquez, commanding officer of U.S. Army Garrison-Pohakuloa Training Area will be this year’s keynote speaker. Other participants include Pastor Marsha Keiger of New Hope Church, Hilo, Kali Delgado and Ray Gandy of Volcano, the Hilo High School Viking Band, and JROTC unit, and Karen Blue of Kurtistown.

KMC will provide all eligible veterans in attendance with a free prime rib dinner buffet. Advance registration for meal vouchers is suggested by calling 967-8371 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. before Wednesday (Nov. 8). Meal vouchers also will be offered after the ceremony.

Proof of eligibility must be presented by an active or retired military ID, VA ID, DD 214 with photo ID or driver’s license indicating veteran status.

For all others, the buffet cost is $27.95 for adults and $14.50 for children ages 6-11.

Veterans Day is a national park fee free day.
