Makekau-Whittaker’s homecoming tonight

CSUN sophomore setter Kamalu Makekau-Whittaker, a 2016 Kamehameha graduate, is set to make her homecoming against the Rainbow Wahine on Friday night.

The Wahine (16-7, 10-2 Big West) host the Matadors (10-13, 4-7) at 7 p.m. today at the Stan Sheriff Center in the team’s final homestand.

Makekau-Whittaker has played in seven matches and has 21 assists.

UH plays Long Beach State (7-18, 4-8) at 7 p.m. Saturday in the last regular-season home match.

Both matches will be televised on Spectrum OC16, channel 16.

Da Hui softball club golf tourney

The inaugural Da Hui softball club golf tournament will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at Waikoloa Village Golf Course.

Entry fee is $120 per player, which includes golf, pupus, and awards. The format is a two-person scramble. There’s also a closest to the pin contest.

BISA golf tourney

The Challenge at the Big Island Country Club will be held at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10 and it benefits the Big Island Sports Academy’s youth.

There will be a continental breakfast, BBQ awards luncheon, and awards for open and handicap divisions.

For players holding spots, names and handicaps for all participants are needed. Organizers are also asking for donations or sponsorships.
